Love Today (2022) tamil movie review -

Love Today is a love story of this generation youngsters and the effect of social media in their life. Love Today stars Pradeep Ranganathan( debut film as a lead actor , also the director), Ivana, Raveena Ravi, Yogi Babu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Sathyaraj and others.

Story is about Uthaman (Pradeep) and his love Nikitha (Ivana). Both of them are in love and want to marry each other. Nikitha's father (Sathyaraj) keeps a condition that if they want to marry, the lovers should exchange their mobile phones for a specific period of time and if they still love each other after this, he will have no-objection in their marriage. Now a story starts of fun, love, betrayal and a lot of funny movements. There's also a plot of Uthamans sister Divya ( Raveena) and her would be Dr. Yogi    (Yogi Babu). 

The film is full of situational comedy which makes you laugh a lot. Its a fun film from start to end. There is also a message about the bad effects of social media use, thankfully it doesn't get preachy in giving out the message. Every guy will connect with this film, we would have gone through many such situations in life. This is a film for all generations and after the end of the film, you come out satisfied watching a good comedy film after a long time.

Many scenes are well executed, when Uthaman meets Ivana's father for the first time, Uthaman and his friends scenes, Uthamans scenes with his mother and sister, all scenes of Dr yogi, the conference call scene of Dr yogi and there are many other scenes that just makes you laugh.

The only negative is the length of the film, second half is a bit too lengthy. 

Direction by Pradeep Ranganathan is good , he handles a lot of issues in a comic way and makes the audience connect with the film. 

Acting by Pradeep is good, seeing him in many scenes we do remember Dhanush . Ivana as female lead impresses in many scenes, she performed really well in emotional scenes. Yogi Babu is funny as always, even with no one-liners he still manages  to make us laugh. Raveena also gave her best.  Sathyaraj and Radhika Sarathkumar are as always lovable. Actors who play Uthaman's friends are a laugh-riot. 

Music and background score by Yuvan Shankar Raja is good. Editing, Cinematography is ok.

If you want to have fun and enjoy your time go for Love Today .
